This is definitely a hometown favorite. I've always loved this place even when I was a little kid. Actually especially when I was a little kid; they would give you bubble gum when you pay your bill. Okay, not really exciting, but for a ten year old, that is a pretty big deal. Anyways, once I moved out of town and couldn't get my once a week Christy's fix, I became pretty upset. I have yet to find somewhere to replace my breakfast needs like Christy's can. Back to the food, everything I have ever had here has been great. I recommend Crazy Bill's Eye Opener. It comes with the most delicious homefries you will ever eat. You get homefries, two eggs, breakfast meat of your choice, and two slices of break, all for under $5. Their daily specials and sandwhiches are great as well. The environment is what you would expect for a small town. It is a very friendly atmosphere. You can't come here without knowing someone. It is family owned as it has always been. This has been and will always be my favorite stop when I pass through Ellwood City.

Good food, vast menu selection. Cheap prices. Great for a satisfying meal anytime of day!

I grew up on christys and I love that it's a small place that not many people know about. The breakfast is a must have and they serve it all day, go with the crazy bills eye opener it's a ton of food for about $5 eggs, toast, potatoes and your choice of bacon, sausage, or ham. The pancakes are amazing too and HUGE! Definitely one of my favorite places to go.

I was out in Kay Kountry again, and we needed things for the new house, so to Trader Horn in the bucolic edges of Ellwood City we were headed, but damn it, we were hungry! That's when we caught sight of Christy's with its peak, white sign, and cursive logo that is bookended by obsolete Pepsi symbols, which for some reason always gives me a good feeling. It purported to be a "family restaurant" and to take credit cards, so without further thought, we were inside and seated. Yet again, I almost ordered a burger, but our waitress steered me towards the BBQ ribs which are only offered once a week as we were told. Thanks be to her, for this rack of ribs was moist, dainty, suety and held bones that slid out cleanly with no exertion. A burgundy BBQ sauce that looked to be merely spooned on was temptingly ordained by molasses and Edesia knows what else. Sweet and savory were unified in a ceremony of Southern matrimony, and not one bite required fingers or wet napkins; the meat was so delicate, I tore it apart with knife and fork. The mound of fries that came on a separate plate were blonde wands of starchy, salty nourishment. Kay ordered deep-fried scallops, and I was fortunate to try one. Why I've never had scallops breaded and plunged into scalding oil before I have no idea. Think catfish and lobster cut into chunks and made worthy of the biggest state fair or amusement park. Put them in a cone of newspaper, and I could pop them into my mouth all day while walking about. For dessert it was a thermal wedge of flaky, buttery, love-induced apple pie with with a side of vanilla ice cream. With all the ornate desserts I've had of late, this was a nice, simple diversion. God Bless America and whack The Red Skull in the face with an indestructible star-spangled shield. youtube.com/watch?v=Bpuf… I love diners. Christy's is one of a dozen reasons why. P.S. Christy's also has a salad bar and on it can be found some rather good potato salad along with fresh bread and a crunchy, finely-chopped cole slaw that outclasses KFC's version by a country mile.

Pleasantly surprised I must admit. I don't usually expect much from a diner. So going in I was a little wary. But then you happen upon those places that you get more from and leave satisfied and full! What a relief... I ordered a Greek Salad and it was packed full of the good stuff. A huge plate full of lettuce, piled high with olives, peppers, onions plus large pieces of gyro meet and a massive amount of feta cheese. Now the place you can go wrong, the dressing. I hate when places serve you a Greek Salad with regular dressing. This was a great oil based Greek dressing. Yummo! Service was friendly and prompt, just the way I like it. EC, you've got a winning diner!

We stop here regularly for work break. Love the crazy bills breakfast, the bone in ham is really good and hard to find at almost every other diner. On the other hand the men's bathroom is as cramped as an airplane bathroom. And it is meant for two atta time use?! That's just awkward. (Speaking from experience) Also one time we came here two of the kitchen help were smoking weed behind the restaurant. It doesn't inspire confidence.

LOVE Christy's! Usually stop here almost every time I'm in town. Defintely the best service, I can't believe how quick they are. GREAT COFFEE!!! I end up drinking 5 cups before I know it. I usually opt for breakfast. Their home made pie is awesome, too!

Typical diner type place, good food for cheap. If your in the area, its a good place to have a quick meal.

I wanted ice cream. I instead took a detour to Christy's in the Trader Horn Plaza in Ellwood City. I would like to tell you that if you are going here for the first time based on my review, you are instead going to show up in an abandoned lot 2 miles down the road. Thanks whoever posted the directions on Yelp. Moving on this was the first time that I have ever been to Christy's and I have lived in the area all my life. I went mid afternoon. When I walked in there was a sign that noted to seat myself, there was a salad bar to the left, and there was a small coffee bar to the right when you walk in. I opted for booth seating by the window and was helped quickly by a waitress. They have everyday home cooking here, breakfast, and nothing on the menu is over 15 dollars...well maybe the fish dinner.... but how fresh could it be being we are no where close to an ocean just the Ohio river? I ordered a sandwich and the portions were huge! My waitress was great with refills and informing me of her favorite dishes as well as customer favorites. This is a very casual dining experience. This is not the place I would take a date on. Maybe grandma, or your screaming children would love this family dining establishment. There were quite a few locals dining here and I liked how the waitress would ask if they wanted the usual which gave it a nice hometown feel. I especially liked how the waitress kept talking to her peers about being there the longest and how a girl named Courtney quit and came back. I will come back to this place. Maybe for the good food, maybe to hear about another chapter in Courtney's life.

A doctor I used to go to recommended this place to me. I've been here several times but forgot about it until Darren and I went to Trader Horn. The deep-fried scallops are delish along with the pies they have. Very nice little old fashioned diner.

Great food, casual atmosphere, and wonderfully priced! Thalia is a very nice down to earth waitress and made us feel right at home. Visitors from New York, it has been hard to find a great place to eat that meets our expectations. This is the fourth place we have eaten, and is by far the best.

good food and great prices..best breakfst in the area----hands down

Best greasy spoon in Ellwood. Crazy Bill's Eye Opener breakfast special is the BEST. AND... you can get it with curly fries instead of the usual breakfast hashbrowns or home fries. An all around win in my book! Great remedy for hangovers!

Christy's Restaurant is a homey diner on the outskirts of Ellwood City. They have specials that change daily, and menus that haven't changed in so long they have stains on them from the day of their grand opening. The waitstaff is kind, and also very entertaining if you listen to them bicker over their schedules. As deep into conversation as they were, they still stopped each time a customer came into the restaurant to greet them and take their order. I ordered a country fried steak and with that came a trip to the soup and salad bar. The potato salad was good, and the vegetable soup was some of the best vegetable soup I've had. It had large chunks of cabbage in it(which makes any soup an instant favorite of mine), and most of the ingredients seemed to be fresh. If they order the soup from a food distributor, I need to open up a restaurant of my own to secure a lifetime of this liquid gold. The country fried steak came with mashed potatoes and green beans. It wasn't the best I've ever had in a diner (I miss Eppingers more than I miss all of my dead relatives combined), but it was good enough that I finished it without any complaints. During our lunch time conversation, my girlfriend mentioned that she felt as though something at her job was "horrible." Our waitress heard H-word muttered and sprung into action, genuinely caring about what part of our meal was less than par. She was relieved to find out that it wasn't any part of our food, and that's an attitude most servers could adopt. Overall, I'm sure I'll be back to Christy's restaurant.
